WHAT IS MICROBLADING & HOW IS IT DIFFERENT THAN EYEBROW TATTOO?
Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup procedure that can fill in missing or thin eyebrows. Eyebrow Microblading is performed by manual deposit of pigment under epidermal layer of the skin by a hand held manual tool.
HOW LONG DOES THE SESSION TAKE?
For the first Microblading session, the procedure should take about 2 hours. A numbing creme is applied. During the session, the artist will shape and style the clients brows. Before any cosmetic tattooing commences, the client is given the opportunity to approve the design before the procedure begins.
IS IT PAINFUL?
The pain level is considered mild to none. Prior to the procedure a topical anesthetic is applied to numb the area and also reapplied during the procedure. Everyone responds differently to anesthetics used. The feeling of the procedure has be described as light scratches to not feeling anything.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?
It takes 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in. You'll notice the color is very light right after the two weeks after healing. This is due to the tissue still healing from the inside out even though the surface of the skin is healed. True color will reveal itself once healed.
The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and color will appear very dark. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The color will fade by up to 40%a as it heals. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing. Do not pick at the scabs as they will pull out the pigment and may result in lose of color. The eyebrow color will lighten up in color as it heals.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Since Microblading pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, they will naturally fade overtime. Microblading typically lasts 1-3 years, depending on skin type, age, how much sun exposure you have.
Skincare will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment. Products used such as Glycolic Acid will fade faster as your skin is resurfacing. Each individual's color retention will vary. To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 12- 18 months.
TOUCH UP SESSION
A 6 week touch up session is necessary. This is the perfection session. This gives the artist the chance to make adjustments to make it a more permanent brow look. Without it the first application will fade and be unfinished.
